. . . seems to get most of its news from press releases and from government, police and court records, rather than from original reporting. This site, therefore, inevitably reflects that fact.
The Enterprise and the "Hima News" Web site have no connection with one another.
The city council suspended Manchester's assistant police chief, a month after he was arrested and charged with joining a conspiracy to sell $1 million worth of cocaine and other drugs.
Sheriff Edd Jordan, who was soundly defeated in his bid for renomination in last spring's primaries, filed to run as an independent candidate. He said that he did not want to "let down" his supporters, and added that a poll -- conducted by an unnamed "outside source" -- showed that he was favored over the winning candidate by 82 percent of the electorate. Jordan did not explain how, with that level of voter approval, he lost the primary by a wide margin.
The Enterprise revamped its business and editorial staffs. The new director of sales, Mark Hoskins, lavished praise on himself, saying, "There's very little you could want done that I haven't had a hand in before."
