A huge fight broke out between a local man and two policemen. The 22-year-old man managed to take one officer's gun briefly. The fight spilled throughout downtown. When he was finally subdued, the man was arrested for being drunk, among many other charges. "He had the strength of three men," the assistant police chief said.
In high school basketball, Clay County's Lady Tigers won their 13th game in a row, trouncing Whitley County, 56 to 39. The boys team, alas, lost to Montgomery County by an even more lopsided score, 59 to 37.
Charles and Ramona Kay Woods celebrated their fiftieth.
